To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 3806 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M21.7.27. CENTRALISED CHASSIS LUBRICATION FRONT AXLE. We send herewith N.sch.2430 shewing the proposed lubrication of the front axle. It will be seen that we have departed from the construction recommended by Mr. Bijur. This is because as shewn it makes very much the simpler scheme, and we think that it should be tried. We should like the simple arrgt. shewn on the main scheme to be tried originally, and the alternatives shewn on this drg., and on N.sch.2435., to be tried should the original scheme not prove successful. It will be seen that the alteration to the front axle and brake parts is very slight. We hope that the slight alteration to the pivot will be able to be got out of existing forgings. BA. | ||
