Smith} VACUUM PUMP X7510 The release air discharge from the vacuum pump being intermittent is rather noisy and we have considered it advisable to silence this. We constructed a small silencer consisting of a circular box with a drilled central discharge pipe leading into the carburetter air intake as shewn on appended print. This proved to be quite efficient, the release being quite inaudible with the bonnet closed. We recommend that some such form of silencer, or one incorporated with the air intake, should be applied to the SS.{S. Smith} engines. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL. | ||
