Note Only persons who are members of any of the classes specified in the Schedule above are exempt from registration, but in certain circumstances a person not exempt from registration may apply on or after registration for exemption from enrolment for duty. The grounds on which such application for exemption from enrolment for duty may be made include:- (a) Fire prevention duty by the applicant at his place of business. (b) Working on vital war work not less than 60 hours per week. (c) Performing Civil Defence duties for 48 hours or more each month. Will foremen please collate a list of the men in their departments, day and night shifts, subject to this registration and let me have the number so that I may issue the cards. It is hoped that with complete co-operation among all concerned in this rather large registration, we should be able to save a considerable amount of personal and works time. W.H.F.
