F.11 CRANKSHAFT IN NITRO ALLOY STEEL

Reverting to the recent notes which have passed on this subject, i.e., Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1/LG2.10.28 and BY1/G4.10.28 etc., I propose asking Messrs. Vickers to proceed with the stamping of such a Crankshaft in suitable material, of which they already have two Casts available.

This will take some little time; coupled to which there will be the time required for the machining of the Crankshaft at these works; and during this interval I shall be seeing Representatives of Messrs. Firth and Vickers, when arrangements can be made for the nitrodizing of the Crankshaft, either by Firths or Vickers, as may be found mutually agreeable.

Unless I hear to the contrary I shall conclude all are in agreement.

Incidentally I might state, we can get no news from Messrs. Firth as to when they will be delivering to these works the Camshaft Bars and material from Hughes Johnson for the production of Rocker Lever Stampings against our Order 80614 of August 27th, although we have written them twice urging matters.

ROY {Sir Henry Royce}
