Higher 1st Speed For Large Bore Bentley.

There seems to be some misunderstanding over the gear ratios we had suggested for this car. We recommended raising the 1st speed by 16% so that the maximum load on the axle half shafts should not be any greater with the large bore engine. By making the 1st speed gears 36/20 instead of 38/18 we are within 2% of what is required. The reference to the T.T. box was solely how to arrange the reverse shaft by a scheme already in existence. We see no reason to alter 3rd or 2nd speed ratios.
