Please receive herewith PD.266 shewing modified exhaust ports to improve the cooling of the valves by making the coolant reach nearer to the top ofthe valve.

This can be tried with and without sodium cooled stems, provided that the diameter is the same, that is .375 dia.

In regard to when to introduce this modification, it is suggested that after casting two castings for the 8 cylinder, the patterncan then be altered.
