Bentley 60 Clutch Casing Distortion Test G.B.4333. Further to the tests reported HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/Bl.1/JW.15.6.39., the cast iron casing which had been used for setting up was tested for distortion under the same conditions as the A/DC casing. The distortions obtained at 500lb. were as follows, the nomenclature being the same as the previous test,-as shown on Bl. 2348. "A" + .0015" "D" + .0010" "B" + .0010" "E" + .00075" "C" + .0040" "F" + .00075" The deflection vertically at "C" was .0025". It will be noted that the horizontal deflection at "C" is lower than the reading with the A/DC casing(without ribs) but is higher than that recorded with the ribbed version. ----------------- HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/Bl.
