Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

We beg to thank you for your letter of the 24th inst., and have pleasure in advising you that when stripped yesterday the bearings were found to be in quite good condition.

We had been able to subject them to 10 hours running under full load conditions, and beyond the fact that two of the bearings had shown slight scoring due to foreign matter which had passed through from the connecting rod setscrew holes we could find nothing wrong with their condition.

We are building the engine up again and hope to commence a further series of full-power tests on Monday, and in all probability the engine will be stripped after periods of 20 hour full-power running. We will advise you of any special observations which may be made dealing with the condition of the bearings, and we will later give you a few days notice so that whenever we make a full examination of the engine you may have an opportunity to examine the condition of the bearings.

Yours faithfully,
DENNIS BROTHERS LIMITED.
