r6011. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.18/JH. 6th June, 1936. Messrs. AC-Sphinx Sparking Plugs Ltd., Dunstable, Bedfordshire. For the attention of Mr. N.F. Stockbridge. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 5th inst. we regret that this size of hexagon shewn on your drawing is out of the question as there is no clearance for the spanner in the tube on the inlet side. The hexagon flat dimension must not exceed .820" and the only way out of the difficulty would appear to be a reduction in the dia. of the insulator unless you arranged to weld the screen extension to the plug body instead of screwing it. We now await your further comments. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LTD. | ||
