EXHAUST NOISE ON 103-MC. 48230

When we had this car at Derby we made comparative tests as regards the silence compared with a standard Phantom and a Silver Ghost. They were all open cars. We think we the only way to judge the exhaust is on cars with similar bodies.

It was certain that there was a marked improvement on 103-MC compared with the standard Phantom, although we have not reached the silence of the Silver Ghost exhaust. At the moment we do not know how to make it any better.

If no improvement can be appreciated in the latest silencer fitted to 103-MC compared with the first modified silencer, the first one is to be preferred because it is easier to produce. We ourselves, however, are satisfied that the second silencer is more silent.
