ROAD TESTS.
TESTS IN FRANCE. X9941 X9410

The car fitted with the 20% stiffer Woodhead latest springs has completed 8,500 miles without any spring failures.

We anticipate that the 10,000 miles test will be completed on Wednesday the 29th.inst.

9-PK car which is running the 10,000 miles test has previously run 10,000 miles without having much repair work done. It will be necessary, before it starts running again for certain work to be done on the car especially on the body-work which is dropping to pieces.

There is another car in France now (98-NK open car) which has started running with Firths springs 12½% stiffer fitted.

Carried on that car as spares is a pair of Woodhead 12½% stiffer springs. It would appear that as the Firths springs are not giving the desired results on the bumping tests, we should take the Firths springs off 98-NK and fit the Woodheads and so get a test completed with the 12½% Woodhead springs.

9-PK car, when it has been done up, could start on tests with Firths 12½% springs.
