We have discovered that all the dip-sticks in Wraith gearboxes are incorrectly marked. The correct level is 6 3/4" below the machined face of the boss for the filler plug. Will you please arrange to run your gearbox at this new level. From an empty box 5 pints are required. This may not immediately appear to give the correct reading, because of the length of time taken for the oil to get through the bearing at the back end of the 2nd. motion shaft into the rearmost compartment. The 2 drain plugs drain compartments 1 and 2 but not 3. This is being corrected in future castings. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}, | ||
