To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to Sv. [crossed out text] EPC. X.4225 RE "GOSHAWK II" CYLINDER HEAD JOINT WASHER. We send you herewith drawing No. LeC.1352 shewing the above. This joint washer or gasket should be constructed in the conventional manner by sandwiching a sheet of asbestos between sheets of brass foil, the holes being bushed with flanged copper rings. It may be found desirable with this joint to cut further holes in it on the valve gear side to equalise the pressure, since the bolts are not evenly distributed over the area. This could be a matter of experiment, and could be carried out on joints made to this drawing. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} [Stamped: ORIGINAL] | ||
