C O P Y X.3513 June 30th, 1921. Rolls-Royce of America, Inc. Springfield, Mass. Gentlemen: - We have been advised by the Condensite Company of America that you are interested in Condensite Celoron built up on laminated paper or vulcanized Fibre. Accordingly, we are sending you samples under separate cover and attach hereto our current price list. We presume that you intend using this material in the manufacture of timing gears and for this purpose we would recommend the Condensite Celoron Vulcanized Fabric Base. As a matter of fact, we understand samples have been submitted to your Company by Dalton & Balch, our distributors in Chicago. Dalton & Balch are interesting a great many of the automobile manufacturers in Condensite Celoron noiseless timing gears. At the present time, we are selling large quantities of Buick replacement gears and have also received direct factory orders from Oakland, Pierce Arrow, Oldsmobile, Midwest Engine and a number of other gas engine manufactures. We believe you will find that this material is admirably adaptable for noiseless gear purposes and we shall be very glad indeed to submit sample gear blanks if you will give us the dimensions. In the Buick installation, we are furnishing one gear for the crankshaft and one for the pumpshaft. To some of the other companies we are furnishing idler gears and in the case of one company the camshaft gear is made of our material. We are anxious indeed to co-operate with you in the application of our material to your product and trust you will give us the opportunity. DIAMOND STATE FIBRE COMPANY. (L. T., McCloskey) Sales Manager. | ||
