X 7360 HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} R5/M12.12.32. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BRAKES. X. 7360. X. 5360. It seems to me that we must not expect to use hydraulic transmission, and a servo. If we use the former we must be contented with direct braking, or the whole thing probably gets too complicated, but with the hydraulic transmission we should get a better effect from the direct braking because a given leverage would be more effective, and it permits of an increased leverage as we can have automatic adjustment. For experiments later. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
