- Wormell Esq.,
c/o Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Mr. Wormell,

I understand that you are the Authority to approach with regard to any new ideas. I have an invention which enables preselection to be fitted to a normal type of gearbox.

The cost of Manufacture is no more than that of a gearbox of the accepted type and a good deal less than a well known epicyclic one.

It enables therefore a Manufacturer to offer the public either preselection or ordinary gate change at no extra cost to himself.

I am running about a car so fitted and should be glad to give you a demonstration any day at your convenience at your Derby Works, and tell you all about it afterwards if you should be interested with its performance.

This gear box could be used with a fluid flywheel or automatic clutch which would of course still further improve its performance.

The gearbox is definitely not epicyclic.

Yours faithfully,

(Sgd.) C.H. Humphreys.
