It was pointed out that by varying the
characteristics of the rate of hand control of the battery
and magneto ignitions, we could get over the difference of
the required and available amount of hand control of each
respectively, something like this :-

Rate of advance.
Magneto area = total.
Battery area = total.

Advance.
Full hand control.
For starting on the spark.
For variations.
