RELATIVE IMPROVEMENTS OF EAC.10 and INDIA 3/.
---------------------------------------------

It appears to us at Derby, judging by R's memos, that he is urgently in need of EAC.10 first and foremost of the chassis improvements.

We have practically all we require in regard to the gearbox, axle and engine, and therefore it means the parts mainly outstanding are in F.{Mr Friese} Dept. and consist of the following sections, for which we have not had information up to the moment :-

Step Irons and Wing Stays.
Rear Spare Wheel and Luggage Carrier.
Frame Ties.
Dipping Head Lamps.
Steering Column and Box.
Side Steering Tube.
Petrol Tank 'D' Shape.
Exhaust Cutout.
Dash, Brackets and Footboards.
Instrument Board.
Sub-Frame.

If you could give these sections attention before dealing with the India 3 chassis then it will enable us to get EAC.10 quickly on the road and clear the way for India 3, so that when we start upon it, it will be quickly cleared up, and finally result in getting both chassis quicker.

I appreciate that every now and again R.{Sir Henry Royce} turns back to India 3 and urges it, but it is quite certain that if we can clear up EAC.10 on the few outstanding items that it will be better for everybody concerned.
