FATHER'S AIR DASH TOO LATE TO SEE HIS SON Immediately on hearing that his son had been seriously injured Sir Henry Segrave's father, Mr. Charles Segrave, who is 81 years of age, left his home at [illegible]. On arriving at the office from [illegible] we heard of Sir Henry's death. I had set out within 15 minutes on our way to Windermere by car, which Mr. Royce had sent when it was learned that he had set out on his record attempt. Mr. Segrave, however, shortly before [illegible]... The [illegible]... ...[illegible]... the dangers we were facing and just waiting for the news. My heart goes out to Lady Segrave. ...A message states that an explosion on the boat hurled debris... He had found the trouble and, thinking it was safe, was with it when it exploded. | ||
