Dear Sirs,
Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/AW.37/IB
Confirming our yesterday's letter in reply to yours of the 1st inst., reference as above, we would inform you that we have now traced your order No.55983 covering the supply of 12 taper packings.
We have to inform you, however, that we are not in a position to supply you with these, due to difficulty we have experienced in securing suitable material from which to make same. In this connection may we refer you to our letters of 27th January and 31st January addressed for the attention of your Mr. F.{Mr Friese} Dodd, and your letter of 1st February under reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}16/JH, wherein you informed us that you had decided to fit aluminium packings for the present and that you yourselves would make these but asked us to secure for you with all speed 24 thin gaskets made from graphited Cooperite as per the pattern we had submitted.
