(4) The brakes were quite good. I had no experience of groans or squeaks. The pedal, however, is nearly on the boards and the brakes require adjusting.
To overcome the slack in the brake mechanism, pins, etc. it has been suggested that oil-less bushes should be used, which appears to be the present practice with other makes of cars.

(5) The clutch is inclined to slip, although this is not continuous. Even the present standard 20/25 HP. is not entirely free from this trouble. At times the clutch, when engaging, was inclined to shudder.

(6) The exhaust system appears to be good and firing in the silencer on retard was quite good compared with the present standard.

(7) Radiator. There appears to be considerable variation in the water temperature, which seems to be due to the sluggish action of the shutters.

(8) The screen wiper and electric clock, refused to work, and the dynamo, with the head lamps on, was in a continual state of discharge.

P.S. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} points out that certain damage has taken place to the wing and tail lamp while the car has been in my hands. This must have been while the car was 'parked', as on no occasion was this caused while I was with the car.
