TOP TRIANGLE SUSPENSION LEVERS FROM
WRAITH II WHEEL MOVEMENT ON PHAN.III.
(Your ref: H.P.S.2/VS.{J. Vickers}10.6.37.)

The four specimens taken from cracked sections
of the above levers have been examined.

In each lever the cracks are due to flaws present
in the forging, as indicated by the oxide inclusions and decarb-
urisation illustrated in the attached photomicrographs Nos. 1 and 2.

In photomicrograph No. 1 it will be seen that
besides the open flaw there are two others which are welded shut.

In none of the specimens was there any sign of
the cracks having developed on test.
