Report comparing the failure of Ferodo and Thermoid facings and listing samples brought back for trial.

It is interesting to note that whereas the Ferodo Chevron only failed at the outer edge, to a radial depth of about .250, small pieces flying off bit by bit, the Thermoid facing flew all to pieces simultaneously, with a loud report, there not being a vestage of it left adhering to the rivets.

Various types of facings, their properties, and methods of manufacture, were discussed at considerable length.

I brought back with me for trial the following facings -

3 - 13.5" for PIII
4 - 11" for 25 H.P.
4 - 10" for Bentley
