Report comparing the failure of Ferodo and Thermoid facings and listing samples brought back for trial.

2 It is interesting to note that whereas the Ferodo Chevron only failed at the outer edge, to a radial depth of about .250, small pieces flying off bit by bit, the Thermoid facing flew all to pieces simultaneously, with a loud report, there not being a vestage of it left adhering to the rivets. Various types of facings, their properties, and methods of manufacture, were discussed at considerable length. I brought back with me for trial the following facings - 3 - 13.5" for PIII 4 - 11" for 25 H.P. 4 - 10" for Bentley Mr Sangley would be glad if we would send an order for these. W.A.R | ||
