To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Derby George V Sr9/ET.22.7.37 124-J I rang you up the other day, but could not get into touch with you concerning the two following cars: Mr. de VILLEROY - 3.BU.94 - This gentleman has continuously been held up on the road owing to vaporisation trouble. This, I presume, is due to the fact that he is always touring. He is a very nice man and has taken his troubles very leniently, but he now wishes us to solve the problem. As we cannot do this, I rang you up to find out whether you could send us over one of the latest high pressure pumps complete with piping, so that we can fit it under the floor boards; if you cannot do this, perhaps you can give us some other solution. We must do something in this particular case. Mr. SPARROW - 3.AX.185 - This gentleman has continuoulsy been suffering from clutch trouble: jaggers, creaks, etc... Could you let us have one of the large type clutch plates. Mr. Sparrow is a very influential customer, being the official representative for Europe of the American A.A. I am sending you under separate cover a report on a trial of B.60.GA, our standard Bentley demonstration car, by Monsieur Louis Delage, which you may find interesting. Incidentally when are you coming over this way? I should like to have a talk with you concerning the speed of the 1938 sports cars. You will be surprised, I think, with the speeds that will be attained next year by most of the sports cars over here. Sr. [Handwritten signature] | ||
