RADIO DEPARTMENT 27th November, 1934. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. for the attention of H.E.West, Esq. Dear Sirs, Attached hereto is a copy of a publication of ours on the subject of car-radio and its installation. We have not yet heard whether you have fitted one of your cars with the set we sent you recently, and should like to know what is happening. You will probably be interested to learn that one of our sets was fitted recently to a 25 h.p. Rolls-Royce by one of our traders and the installation turned out to be a great success. We took the opportunity of asking Mr. W. O.{Mr Oldham} Bentley to inspect it, which he did, and we believe that he was very much impressed by the results. The set itself was fitted in the luggage compartment at the back of the car, the controls being located on the left hand side of the rear passengers' seat and the speaker facing the rear passengers, having been sunk into the back of the driver's seat. The customer was so delighted with the installation that he asked us to inspect it, and we found that the fitters, who had never seen a Philips' set before, had made a perfect job, no suppressors being used, and we measured the consumption which turned out at under 2.6 amps when the valves were heated. We would like you to have seen this car, but perhaps you could ask Mr. Bentley for his opinions. Yours faithfully, PHILIPS LAMPS LIMITED. CAR-RADIO DEPARTMENT.
