If I were you I should forget the twin top idea and the 4 speed box & simply produce a three speed box with all speeds silent, fool proof shift and traditional ratios of 1, 1.7, & 3. I dont believe people want to fool with 4 speeds, & with synchromesh the traffic pickup is faster with three.

③ The Warner Box of Graham Paige with simplified synchro mesh as already written you, appears to be effective only with free wheel. I expect the G-Ps you have in England all have the old spool gearboxes. This is nothing new to us as we have examples closer home of the use of the export market for getting rid of last years models!

④ Gear Process is having a struggle to put over their process as a real manufacturing job. Detroit Gear & M/c are said to be the most consistent users of their process, entirely replacing grinding. I understand they make the Stutz transmission.
We are trying to get by with the Lees-Bradner helical grinder using a slightly dished wheel to give a barrelled tooth. I confidently expect that when we get 100 sets, we shall come to pot-lapping to
