Bentley Chassis. Further to our Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}11/HR.1.1.38., in which we put forward certain suggestions for modification to the contact pieces in order to provide a more consistent degree of friction, it is now six months since this was tried out on several cars with satisfactory results. In particular, Lewis Biggs' Bentley, which was running in the Isle of Skye under particularly bad road conditions, has since been satisfactory in this respect. We have not been able to discover any disadvantage in this modification, provided that the diameter of the sleeve G.100433 is reduced by about .015" to prevent binding. In view of the foregoing, we shall be glad to hear whether you now agree that we can issue a Depot Sheet covering this very cheap and simple modification.
