Herewith preliminary particulars of a Buick series 40 connecting rod and piston. It will be observed that they use a very much shorter connecting rod than we have on the Wraith, which saves engine overall height. Furthermore, by splitting their big end at an angle and having 2" pins they are able to withdraw their connecting rods through the bore. This means that they are not in any way tied up with their piston design owing to having to extract the gudgeon pin when the piston is above the face of the block. We shall shortly be stripping this car completely. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
