CONTINUATION Page 2. 2. The attachment of the spring to the bar by means of a distance piece welded to the inner surface of the bar, is one which we do not favour as there is always a tendency to spoil the front surface of the bar, which is magnified when the surface is polished and plated. 3. The form of spring for the attachment to the bar in this instance, appears to be entirely dictated by appearance, and it appears to the writer that the long form of spring would give a better effect. On the other hand, this is based upon the plan view shown in your drawing, which may not be the case when the car is viewed as a whole. We hope you will appreciate our attempts to be constructive regarding this design, and we await your comments before proceeding with the sample. Yours faithfully, WILMOT-BREEDEN LTD., (R.{Sir Henry Royce} F.{Mr Friese} TURNER.) | ||
