1110 file Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler}10/JH. 28th January, 1938. J.N. Longley Esq., Messrs. Ferodo Ltd., Chapel-en-le-Frith. Dear Mr. Longley, It is very probable that a clutch facing having the /u velocity characteristic to which Mr. Martindale has called attention in connection with brake linings, might be highly desireable. When Mr. Harrap called he said that you were making up a 13 1/4" clutch disc with a view to testing it for bursting strength. and if you could kindly let us have 4 samples cut from a clutch disc about 2" x 3" it would be interesting to compare its /u velocity properties with samples of S.7409 and American Thermoid, especially as the Thermoid clutch facing we use is totally different to their brake lining. We could cut the S.7409 and Thermoid test pieces from clutch facings we have at Derby. Yours sincerely, | ||
