Apology for a delayed reply concerning a lost fan drive and a discussion on spring shackles.

I wish to apologise for not having replied
to your many notes. The fact is, we had lost
Mackenzie's change speed fan drive and it has taken
us this time to find it.

We propose carrying out comparative tests and
will let you have figures before we return it.

As regards the spring shackles. We are returning
these to you. We showed them to R.{Sir Henry Royce} but he did not
consider they were worth testing. At the same time,
designs are being got out for RR. adjustable shackles.
