1245 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/R.3.12.36. 22.G.IV. Herewith is promised report from Sr. on results. Frankly, I am very disappointed with the results. I should have thought Hamilton would have had sufficient intelligence to realise that it was no use trying to spring a 7-seater Limousine for Continental conditions, as the main duty of such a car will always be town work. I do not know whether you think it is worth going out to France to try the car before itcomes back; personally, I do not think it is. I think that we can do far better work round London, where 90% of our customers are located, than we can in France. When 35-EX goes into the shop on Monday, we should like you to get hold of GAE.20, and give us a considered opinion as to whether you think it advisable to standardise these road springs and roll rod. You know the volume of complaints on the 25/30 better than we do. With regard to the number of cars which will be produced with this modification, actually I should be very disappointed if the last 25/30 is not delivered to Sales before Christmas 1937, which means that if we standardise the roll rod to-morrow, we might get four months output so equipped.
