COPY. SPECIFICATION ETC. OF "RAPSON" JACKS. Price of four Jacks complete with axle fittings, - Retail £15 - fitted £16. Manufacturers discount 25% if standardised otherwise 20% Special Note. These Jacks are extremely costly to manufacture, the castings being made of special "Millenium" steel not malleable as all others are. They cost us £9. Weight. The Jacks being sent weigh as follows, but our standardised models are reduced in the axle fittings - Front Jack:- weight 5 lbs., swivel device 1 1/4 lbs. axle fitting 5 lbs. (reduced to 2 1/2 lbs.) Rear Jack:- weight 7 lbs., swivel device 1 1/4 lbs. axle fitting 3 lbs. 'SPECIFICATION CONFIRMED. Obviously if Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., decide to standardise, it would be very simple to cast as a part of both front and rear axles the swivel fitting, thereby entirely eliminating weight and cost of axle fittings, which would reduce weights to:- Front axle complete - jack and swivel lock - 6 1/4 lbs. Rear " " " " " " - 8 1/4 lbs. Were this carried out, instead of supplying you with the jacks at £11-5-0 - Retail £15, we could reduce to £10 - Retail £15., shewing you clear profit of £5 per set. Yours faithfully, F.{Mr Friese} Lionel Rapson. | ||
