To Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby.......... Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Levallois Re: CHASSIS N° 22.G.V - EXPERIMENTAL CAR With further reference to your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}PO/R.26.5.37, we have to-day received a report from Messrs. Beaufils, Dunlop's official wheel repairer, and the following is a translation of their report: "Upon investigation of your complaint concerning the repairs we carried out as per/your official order to us N° GPR.2197, the cost of the repairs amounted to Frs.32 and, for this price, the work we effected was to re-centre the wheel and tighten up the spokes. If the spokes were of a poor quality, the fault was not ours." Although we paid a visit to Messrs. Beaufils and telephoned to them twice, we did not receive their report until this morning. You will observe from the above that their report indicates that they did not have to change any spokes. We are therefore at a loss to know who or where the smaller spokes were fitted, as mentioned by you in your memo. Sr/VA. | ||
