X.1331 Mr Johnson. Mr Royce. C O P Y. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/HIL/L10913. Sept. 10th. 1913. X.193 DAILY REPORT ON FRAME TESTS. X 1331 We have had the front wheels of a car running on the dynamometer drums with cams on. We used the 3" cams and the speed of the road wheels was 15 m.p.h. 105 r p m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} The car was 2200, 8.00" set on front horns, old type cross member, medium strength pivots used on cars from 2200 to 2500. F2352-3 To watch this test one marvels that the car stands it for five minutes, the front wheels bounce about as if they were fixed on with rubber. 75 mins. - Sheared centre bolt front spring. K5900 175 " - Cracked cross member. F2745 190 " - Broke top plate front spring. F812 200 " - Broke spring clip. K5400 260 " - Broke steering arm. F957 345 " - Broke near side pivot. F2352 The radiator supports are bent, and the radiator has commenced to leak at both bottom corners. I do not think there is much doubt that we must break the frame in time. | ||
