Dear Sirs,
In answer to your letter of the 17th ulto. and further to mine of the 22nd ulto. we have a number of interesting results on Tractive Resistance which we have made on our machines, the results of which agree in a general way very well with those obtained in the paper issued by the United States Bureau of Standards No.213, which you no doubt have seen.
Tests were made with cord and canvas tyres on the power consumption of tyres run on the machines at different inflation pressures, the results of which are given on page 2.
