X6516. c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/AD. July 1st, 1932. Messrs. John Marston Ltd. Paul St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Works, Wolverhampton. Dear Sirs, We have now carried out some tests on the three radiator blocks you sent us and the film type of block sent from the States is about 35% more efficient than your own film block whilst our hexagon tubes are not so efficient as either. We are proposing to carry out mechanical strength tests on the American film block and should therefore be glad to know whether you consider the sample submitted is up to standard in this respect. We shall also be requiring various other samples of this highly efficient matrix for our cars and we think perhaps it would be advisable for your representative to call on us and discuss the prospects of manufacture in this country and the time which is likely to elapse before we can obtain this sample. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
