6116. EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}22/JH. 4th. January, 1939. Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd., Great King Street, BIRMINGHAM.19. For the attention of Mr. Taylor. Dear Sirs, In connection with the figures of volt-drop in the head lamp circuit of the chassis system, which we gave you a short while ago as some doubt was expressed as to the accuracy of the test, we have now repeated it. This time we have attempted to analyse the volt drop, by taking voltmeter readings at a larger number of points. All readings were taken with respect to the battery negative, so that the potentials given below for the various tapping points, are the potentials actually above the negative terminal of the battery. The off side head lamp was used as the circuit of this one included the dipper switch contacts. The volt drop across the auxiliary ammeter and leads, which were inserted in the circuit for the purpose of measuring the battery discharge current, was measured and has been deducted from the values given below. Discharge current constant at 11.22 amperes. (Head, side and tail lamps). Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
