For the attention of Mr.H.R.Buckland.

Dear Sir,

You will remember a few days ago we returned to you a special speedometer with concave dial in order to have the revs per mile altered and the scale recalibrated. These alterations were the subject of a telephone conversation between the undersigned and yourself.

We regret to state that the trip on this instrument failed almost immediately it was run on the car and we are returning the instrument immediately to you by post in order that you can examine same and rectify, it is hoped you will return the instrument by post the same day.

We view this trip failure with some amount of apprehension and should like to know from you after your examination whether you consider further modification is necessary to this trip to prevent recurrence of the trouble in which case a modification should be put through and tested as soon as possible.

Referring to the question of the lubrication of cables we are afraid that we find it hard to agree to your remarks regarding the effect of tallow as we have found that tallow is the only means of quietening the drive.
