To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from EFC. X8710 EFC3/T8.9.26. X2894 X4653 X8710 In accordance with a scheme which we have arranged of systematically trying the eight combinations of (a) Standard or finer primary ignition coil, (b) Single or double value ballast resistance, (c) Platinum or British tungsten contact points, we wish to change on chassis 89-GIII at present with you, the present single ballast resistance to the double one, and the present British tungsten points to platinum. Accordingly we are sending you a double value ballast resistance and a set of contact breaker lever and screw points fitted with standard platinum points. Will you please make these two changes, sending us back the bits removed and the milometer reading at the time of change. We think that the tungsten points which you will remove will have done by this time approximately miles. As regards 10-EX, also with you, our scheme does not call for any alteration, this already having the combination of finer primary coil, single ballast resistance, and platinum points. We should like, however, the milometer reading of this car and a single word report on the condition of the points. EFC. | ||
