STEERING.

The steering is not all that could be desired. This was very noticeable driving out of Boulogne. The road is badly cambered which made the steering unstable for high speed work. This was still noticeable after 4 to 5 hours driving. The steering appears to be on the light side.

CLUTCH.

Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} The clutch started to slip considerably during the drive through the London traffic. This was in no way due to any tightening of the pressure plates; the cause was heat due to the getaway with many hold ups for traffic jams, lights, etc. It started after approx. half an hour of the above, after clearing London there was no sign of slipping. It remained free from jaggers or transmission rattles.

BRAKES.

Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} There are decidedly down in efficiency. A considerable load is required on the foot pedal, there is very little front braking, which points to the servo rather than the BZ brake linings.

HYDRAULIC DAMPERS.

Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} For the French roads the maximum damping is required to prevent pitching. Pitching occurred several times at speed when otherwise the max. load was not desirable. With the soft position going over cobble stones at approx. 30 M.P.H. excessive pitching on the front was frequent. Half unit load immediately checked it but this load was too much for comfort of riding. In other words, the car rides too hard with medium control over cobble stones, and is not sufficiently checked with the minimum control. The maximum unit pressure is only required for maximum speeds for control and comfort in riding.

DYNAMO.

Wst. The output of the dynamo appears to be on the high side. We are getting a 6 amp. output all the time with battery fully charged.

Our mileage is 309.
Average speed 41.2
Petrol cons. 15.4 M.P.G., Oil approx. 1,000 M.P.G.
