To H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} N.) from BJ. 4451 CORRECTING STEERING WOBBLES. BJ5/H22.9.25. At CJ's request, I am forwarding the following extract from Sales Conference Minutes of to-day:- "Correcting Steering Wobbles. "It was agreed:- "1. That we should not send men to balance Silver Ghost wheels until all Phantoms delivered from Works have been dealt with. "2. That in the meantime we should balance wheels on Silver Ghosts where customers complain. "3. We should balance wheels on Silver Ghosts which come to us for any repair. "4. That when all Phantoms have been balanced we should send men to balance Silver Ghosts fitted with front wheel brakes. " It was considered that the complaints of Silver Ghosts "were not so likely to be serious or urgent as those on "Phantoms, as the Phantoms were driven at higher speeds, "and this was the reason we have received few, if any, "really dangerous complaints of Silver Ghosts as compared "with the Phantoms, although there is such a very large "number of Silver Ghosts on the road with front wheel brakes. " It is recommended that, subject to CJ's approval, this "minute should be forwarded to R.{Sir Henry Royce}, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}" B.J. P.T.O. | ||
