X5810 SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}/HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M14.8.28. 20 HP. WHEEL ARCHES - 5 1/4" TYRES. X5390 21" RIMS. X615 We thank you for your SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}/HN{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}8/EDS.8.28. and your SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}/HN{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}20/ED{J. L. Edwards}31.7.28. We note that you wish to reduce the height of the wheel arch to 17", this being 1/4" more than our suggestion on N.sch.2643. We note that you make these recommendations as a result of tests on an actual body. We ourselves are in perfect agreement with your getting the wheel arches as low as practically possible. We think however that this height of wheel arch should be tested by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, either by his fixing up a car, or by getting him to witness your tests. We have already asked Derby some while ago to make tests of the wheel arch clearance, but have had no reply. We would be glad if Derby would give us their views.
