During a visit to the Birmingham Factory of Rovers, we saw their machine for radius-ing the engagement side of crash-gears. It can do an 18 tooth gear wheel in one minute. It is made by the Hey Engineering Co. of Coventry and factored by Alfred Herbert and costs £350. Rovers see no reason why the cam action should not be made suitable for helical teeth.
