To Mr. [redacted] C. to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. 16142. Levallois. July 9th, 1936. A failure of a Dynamo has occurred on the Paris Bentley Trials car B-60-GA after 8,800 miles. The failure was caused by lack of clearance on the ventilated end plate. The armature winding had fouled, shorted and caused excessive sparking, commutator burnt, brushes worn away. We enclose sketch showing position where the fouling took place. This should be a turned job and a definite clearance allowed for limits in the overhang of the winding.
