1263 W/N - Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}4/JH.9.8.37. We are sending you 4 high pressure pumps together with the necessary pipes and fittings to fit these to chassis at present fitted with the double pump on the dash. The drawing shows the general arrangement for pipes and wiring. It will be necessary to cut the existing pipe and sweat the T piece supplied in position on the car, we fully realise the difficulty of doing this but alternative fittings are not available and every care will have to be taken to make a satisfactory joint. It is essential that the pipe from the tank is well washed and blown out after this operation. Included in each set of parts is one .140" dia. carburettor valve and seating this should be fitted to the carburettor to guard against the possibility of flooding with the higher pressure. We are aware that there are 40 chassis which still have the filter on the side of the frame. To adopt these to the pump in the frame it will be necessary to move the filter or bring a branch pipe back to the suction of the high pressure pump. It will be some time before we can let you have more H.P. pumps. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/J.B.Dixon. | ||
