RIPPLET SPARE WHEEL CARRIER.

The Ripplet represents our rationalised 6-cylinder chassis.

Shortening the distance from the front wheels to the dashboard has enabled us to save a con-siderable amount of weight owing to a thinner gauge of material being possible for the frame.

In return for this we have got a spare wheel which is perched up in the air. The appearance of this wheel, we do not think, would be objectionable, but at the moment the carrier is not sufficiently rigid and the wheel flaps about. This may be partially due to the thin gauge used for the frame.

Will Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} please investigate whether deflection is taking place on this carrier and whether we believe it can be removed by a better support for the rear end of the wing, and issue a report for Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} so that he may make the necessary alterations.

We should also like the movement and the construction of this carrier compared with that fitted to the Bentley V.{VIENNA}
