1044. 800 Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/R.28.3.38. STRAIGHT 8 ENGINE 3.5" BORE. This is to confirm that you will let us have a sketch of a B.50 car fitted with a Straight 8 engine having a cylinder block length 7" longer than that of the existing 25/30, the radiator being disposed to just clear the fan in the latter's most economical position. We shall only use one fan belt on this engine, and after discussing the matter with Steadman we believe that the radiator matrix need be no thicker than the existing Wraith.
