Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Edwards. We are sending you herewith two prints of our drawing FAB/A/1 shewing the type of Radiator Relief Valve which was discussed with you when you were last at these works. Its functioning may simply be described as follows :- Just below 100°C the bellows expands and seals off the Radiator. No further movement takes place until the temperature reaches that corresponding to 15 lb. per square inch in the system, when the main spring starts to collapse, and, after the backplate has come up solid against the bellows cage, the whole acts as a plain Relief Valve. If you think this will meet your requirements, we shall be pleased to make one up for test purposes. Yours faithfully, THE BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO., LTD., K.{Mr Kilner} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Petter.
