6. E&I.827. (b) The engine test in the "Jupiter" VI on the bench was completed satisfactorily. A total of 11 hours 40 minutes was run. (c) The material has good electrical and heat resisting qualities. (d) Although the pre-ignition limit is lower than that of standard aero plugs this may be remedied by alteration to the design viz., by reduction of the volume of the gas space so as to render the plug capable of withstanding a larger amount of heat. (e) The material "Sinterkorund" has excellent physical properties and is capable of withstanding rougher handling than any other type of ceramic insulation that has been tested at R.A.E.
